NSSLA Membership
Who should join?
  • NSSLA encourages any member of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) who identifies as a Social Studies leader to join in our work.  Membership is open to supervisors, administrators, department chairs, classroom teachers, instructional coaches, organizational leaders, and others who have or aspire to assist in the development, implementation, and supervision of social studies curriculum and instructional programs.

Why you should join
  • A community of social studies leaders providing support in a variety of specialized areas.
  • A full day of keynotes, breakout sessions, Partner presentations, and networking opportunities prior to the NCSS national conference. This one day conference focuses on the latest trends and information designed to support social studies leaders in the rapidly changing educational setting.
  • Access to leader specific resources, webinars, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Members receive first access to a twice-yearly publication written by leader practitioners, NSSLA Partners, and researchers specifically for NSSLA members.
  • Members receive monthly Digest containing current articles, news, book reviews, and organizational updates.

Membership process
  • NSSLA is an Associated Group of NCSS. Becoming an NSSLA member requires that you must first be a member of or join NCSS. Our membership process begins at the NCSS website.
  • The current NSSLA membership rate is: $60 per year.
  • Clicking the button below will take you to the NCSS site where you can begin the NSSLA membership process.
  • Once on the NCSS page, login to your account if you are a current NCSS member:
  • If you are not an NCSS member, scroll to the bottom of the page and find the "click here" link. This will start the NCSS membership process, ending with the option to join NSSLA:
